孤軍奮闘 ー 作品集出版に向けて

まもなく作品集を自費出版します。

と言っても安価なeBOOK 主体なので、どれほど広く行き渡るのか、怪しいところです（ハードカバーの実物版も注文できるのですが）。

「Shoso 2020」

として、前回２０１６年版の続きということになります。

過去４年間の活動をまとめたものですが、私にしては忙しい日々を過ごしたものです。

時に自作を振り返ってもみるのもいいかもしれません。都市封鎖継続中のメルボルンですから、いい機会です。

反省点は多々ありますが、いくつか気付いた点があります。

まず、一つは自分の作品のスタイルができてきたかな、ということ。

それがいいことなのかどうかはわかりませんが、ともかく、全体的にクリーンな傾向が強まっているように思います。以前と比べて、より単純で、清浄な方向へ向かっているように思います。

なぜこうなったのか、と考えているのですが、私のアート系の関心の出発点には車のデザインがあったせいかもしれません。子供の頃、車のデザインを無数に描いていたものです。車を見る目というのは、かなり発達していたように思います。説明が難しいのですが、例えば、ある車の新型車が発表されたとします。それを横から見て、テールライトの位置が以前のデザインより数センチ下がっただけで、すぐに全体からして「低すぎる」と気付いたりします。そういう目というか、感覚は生け花でも生きていると最近気付きました。おそらく似たような経験は多くの方がお持ちでしょう。車でないにしろ。子供の頃の経験には不思議なものがありますね。

もう一つ、４年間の活動をリストにしてみて、ふと、思い至ったことがあります。生け花の世界から現代芸術の、殊にその環境芸術に殴り込みをかけるという無謀な取り組みをやっているのは、おそらく世界で私一人ではないか？と。自分ではそこにやむにやまれぬものを感じ、非力ながら取り組んできたのですが、「こんなこと、他の華道家の誰もやっていないではないか」と今更ながら気付き、少し愉快な気持ちになりました。だから誰にも分かってもらえないし、相手にもされないのか、と妙に納得。好きなことをやっているのだから、共感者が得られないのは当たり前、と覚悟するしかないのでしょう。

作品集には以下の活動歴を掲載予定です。孤軍奮闘のひとつの成果として、ユネスコの学術誌に環境芸術についての論文が掲載されました。次の段階への小さなステップができたようにも感じています。
